Eligibility.

• Participants must be 4 to 13 years old and Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• A connection to Silent Voice Canada by attending its programs or having parents/guardians who use its services.

Contest Dates and Times.

• Starts April 15th, 2024. Submission deadline ends on May 3rd, 2024 at 11:59pm EST.
• No entries will be accepted after the deadline date.
• Silent Voice has the discretion to extend the contest.

Design Guidelines.

The design should show summer camp vibes and reflect SLSP’s 50th anniversary. The design must have all of the following:

• SLSP
• Sign Language Summer Program
• 50 (it can be 50th, 50 years, 50th anniversary)
• Handshapes

Please note:

• Participants can use software such as Photoshop, Canva, and others to create their designs.
• Hand-drawn designs are also accepted. They must have clean lines and high contrast.
• Design with offensive or inappropriate content will not be accepted

Submission Guidelines.

To enter, the design must be uploaded using the Upload Design form on the right. Outlined below are the guidelines:

• File format: .psd, .ai, .png, .jpg, .eps, or .pdf.
• The design must be original.
• Ensure the design doesn’t contain copyrighted material unless under a Creative Commons license.
• Entries with copyrighted works will be disqualified.

Ownership Rights.

• Parent/Guardian of the winner will sign a waiver to let Silent Voice Canada use their child’s design, free of charge, for any future printing and promotional purposes.
• Silent Voice Canada may adjust the winning design if needed for production.

Publicity and Media Release.

By entering the Contest, you permit Silent Voice Canada to use your child’s name and image for Contest purposes and promotion without notifying you or providing payment.

Judging Criteria.

An internal team of judges will review entries based on the following:

• Originality of the design.
• Clarity of the image from a reasonable distance.
• Image meets the criteria of the contest.
• It’s aligned with Silent Voice and SLSP branding.
• It captures the spirit of the SLSP camp, its values and mission.
• Overall readiness for production.

Upon final review, the top three (3) designs will be presented to the community for their public vote (a limit of one vote per person). Votes must be submitted May 10th, 2024 by 11:59pm (EST). If a tiebreaker is required, a member of Silent Voice Canada will cast the final vote.

Contest Prize.

• Winner will receive 1 free week at SLSP camp (transportation fees not included).
• Recognition on Silent Voice Canada’s website and social media.
• The prize must be accepted as awarded and has no cash value.

Winner Selection and Confirmation.

• On May 13th, 2024, the potential winner will be selected.
• Must meet all the contest eligibility criteria.
• Parent/Guardian must sign and return a Winner Release form within 5 business days of the notification of the result.
• A new winner may be chosen if the Silent Voice is unable to contact the winner’s parent/guardian within 2 business days of the announcement of the result or is not able to cannot accept the award or meet the criteria.
• Silent Voice Canada is not responsible if the winner’s parent/guardian doesn’t receive a notification or respond.
